Luxury Hybrid-Electric Fisker Automotive Raises $100M

Fisker Automotive, which manufactures luxury plug-in electric hybrid cars, has raised an extra $100 million in its third round of funding to help fund production of its luxury sedan and a cheaper second electric car that is geared toward more mainstream hybrid electric car buyers.

Toyota, 3M hybrid cars sold

Toyota announces that it has sold 3 million hybrid vehicles. The car company has 18 hybrid models, which use a mix of conventional fuel and electric power to increase fuel efficiency. It first launched its hallmark electric car, the Prius, in 1997.
